The term “product creation” is one you’ll keep seeing because it’s one of the cornerstones of Internet marketing.
In simple terms, you need a product to offer potential buyers so they will give you money in exchange.
You’ve probably heard me banging on about this before but – I’ve got to keep saying it – people aren’t going to give you money if you haven’t got anything to sell them.
1. What is a Product?
A product could be one of many things. In IM, it could include a report, an eBook, an eCourse, a CD, a DVD, a video, a webinar, software, a plugin, a website, a blog, graphics, training, a sales letter, individual web pages, articles, blog posts, etc.
Right now, what could you offer in exchange for money? Sex doesn’t count (this isn’t that sort of blog!)
2. Creating a Product.
“Where do I start?”
You start with an idea. What ideas have you got?
Looking at the list in the last section, which of those floats your boat/appeals to you as a product you could create?
I’ve been checking out creating a plugin so I did some research. Went on http://wordpress.org to see if anyone was already doing the plugin I’d thought of. No-one was so I did more research. More about that another time.
A handful (5 at most) of EU cookie plugins is okay. We want choice, don’t we? But 20-25? I don’t think so!
The point is, be as unique as you can. Don’t do what everyone else is doing. Dare to be different.
3. Help is Available.
“What if I get stuck? You know, if I get so far then get stuck. What do I do, then?”
There are people around who can help. Contact me – if I can’t help, I’ll know someone who can.
If you can afford to, you could “outsource” your product creation. Pass it to a freelancer. You’d avoid the hassle of trying to produce something.
Got any ideas yet?
‘Til next time,
